The Learning Curve

I'm not exactly sure how to do this blog thing.  I see such cute blogs, and I'm so blessed by them.  I could just sit all day and read my favorite blogs.  I actually get up in the morning, often, and log on to my friend, Shelly's blog, just so i can listen to Louis Armstrong sing "What a Wonderful World!"  I'd much rather do it that way, and see Shelly's cute pictures, her beautiful crafts, and her well-designed page, than to pull Louey up on Youtube!  But when it comes to actually putting it together for you to enjoy, , I'm just not sure HOW.  So bear with me.  Maybe I should call this "The Learning Curve".

I'll be posting some of my sewing activities here, as time goes by.  Right now I'm involved in a project that, while fun, doesn't call on my creativity.  It's alterations on 169 formal choir dresses for a local high school.  I'll spare you, my reader, the details of this one, and I'll post a picture of the girls after the Christmas concert.

Recently, I've made jeans for my tall, thin son, who can't buy jeans that fit him, made princess dresses for a fairy-tale princess business, and made a cover for my serger.  Maybe I'll post some pix of these, too.

I sew, right now, to make money.  I love to sew, but I'm not doing much for myself.  I am, however, paying for my daughter's braces, at a time when the economy has hit our family business pretty hard.  We haven't taken a pay-check for five months, and have almost no savings left.  Being able to sew, therefore, is a great benefit, and it simply amazes me that people are willing to pay for my services.  I'm grateful, because being able to put something IN to the checking account feels better than only ever taking money OUT!

Anyway, we'll get to know each other better over the days to come.

Thanks for stopping by!
